Almost a Month in California!

I can’t believe we’ve been in California for almost a month already! I’m officially settled into my dorm at Berkeley, and I’ve been trying to really put myself out there: meeting new people, trying new things, and soaking it all in. Starting this new chapter has been exciting, a little emotional, and everything in between.

I’m not the only one starting fresh, either. My mom moved out here too, and she’s been working hard to get her new place set up. Huge shoutout to Christy, who spent a whole week helping her! They worked 8 AM to 8 PM almost every day: unpacking, organizing, building furniture, and rearranging everything about five times. My mom says Christy is an absolute organizing BEAST, and honestly I believe it. 😂

They squeezed in some fun too. They had dinner at Epic on the Embarcadero overlooking the Bay, had lunch at Fable, visited Chase Center and the Warriors/Valkyries store, explored Muir Woods, saw the Golden Gate Bridge, and spent time at the Wharf. There’s so much to explore out here, and I can’t wait to do more of it.

It’s been a whirlwind month with some long, tiring days. But there have also been so many moments where I stop, look around, and think, “Wow, we really did this.”

We’re slowly settling in, finding our rhythm, and starting to call California home. Here’s to this crazy, exciting new chapter! 💛
