Exploring the Bat Cave with Darlington’s First Graders
In November, G had the opportunity to help lead one of the most fun learning adventures she’s ever been part of! Alongside two of her favorite teachers, Mrs. Haynes and Mr. Kinney, G joined a group of curious first graders who had been learning all about bats. They hiked across Darlington’s campus to explore the Bat Cave — where lessons about science and nature came to life right before their eyes.
Watching their excitement and curiosity reminded her of why she loves being involved with Darlington’s younger students. Moments like these make her appreciate Darlington’s sense of community and the teachers who encourage hands-on learning and connection at every age.
It was such a privilege to spend the morning outdoors, learning (and laughing!) together — and to see how even the smallest adventures can inspire a lifelong love of learning.
